RELEASE: ARBRA recently honored by Anchorage Assembly

Anchorage, Alaska (May 1, 2026). Anchorage Responsible Beverage Retailers Association (ARBRA) was recently recognized by the Anchorage Assembly for its “sustained commitment to improving the Anchorage community through proactive cleanup efforts, cross-sector collaboration, and engagement with individuals experiencing homelessness.”

In 2025, ARBRA volunteers collected more than 20 tons of trash from public and private spaces throughout Anchorage, contributing to the cleanliness, safety, and accessibility of Anchorage’s public spaces. Through regular community initiatives, ARBRA volunteers successfully cleared numerous camps in parks and other locations throughout the city.

ARBRA has built and maintained partnerships with Municipal departments, local businesses, enforcement agencies, and community-based organizations, contributing to coordinated responses to illegal camping and public conduct concerns.

“We are grateful to our partners who make what we do possible,” says Jay Rendon, Program Director of ARBRA. “Since 2000, our mission has been to provide for a cleaner, greener, safe, and secure city and to build pathways for engagement and stability for vulnerable populations, reflecting a compassionate and coordinated response to the challenges facing our community.’

Rendon says ARBRA will continue clean-up efforts throughout the year and anticipate a busy summer.
